Once reserved for the royal family and their courtiers and guests, these rooms hold Renaissance furnishings, Italian paintings from the Lanckoroński Collection, and Flemish tapestries from the holdings of King Sigismund II Augustus. Several rooms retain their original 16th-century painted wooden ceilings and friezes. the President of the Republic of Poland. Wawel’s collection of Meissen porcelain and table silver from the so-called Saxon period (1697–1763; Wettin kings Augustus II and Augustus III) are on view on this floor.
Wawel Recovered exhibition on view in the medieval interiors of a group of Gothic buildings on the north side of Wawel Hill focuses on Wawel's history from the Poland's loss of independence in 1795 to the present day. It tells the story of the trying period of the Partitions and Wawel was converted into an Austrian military stronghold. During this period, some medieval buildings were demolished and the once-splendid royal residence was turned into barracks for the occupying army. It is also the story of the castle's restoration.

Additional time spent visiting seasonal and temporary exhibitions is not included in the scheduled time spent visiting the main exhibition Castle I.
